I will miss you I loved to listen to your homilies.
God Bless you!
You made an impression on me and everyone you encountered. Our last time together was at Mario Infanti’s celebration of life where you led us in a beautiful spirit filled send off for my musical ‘brother’.
Now you all are making music together in the heavens. Peace and love. Kim
May you Rest In Peace & walk with the Angels! You touched my heart .❤️ You were one of a kind priest. You touched so many lives.
I am so honored to have attended your church for a short while & see you in person. You carried me through Covid & I watched your on-line masses. I will always remember you & smile when I think of you. You were a beautiful music composer. Your homilies touched so many people. Go rest high on that mountain, your work on earth is done.
Amen!
This saintly man, my dear friend, Jerry Kaywell, overwhelmingly opened his arms to me as a former ordained minister and video producer even though I was just a visitor to the parish many years ago. Time passed and during the COVID outbreak I was so delighted to see how he and the parish shared their love of God by televising the Sunday Liturgy. And now, through that same evangelical ministry, we will be welcomed into the parish’s liturgical celebration of the man who showed us the face and heart of God. May Jerry continue to feel our love in Paradise. Praised be Jesus.
A TRUE Living Saint that will always remain in our hearts 💕 until we all cross over to join the faithful together in PARADISE
May you rest in peace Fr. Jerry. You were one of a kind who knew how to bring those in your path closer to God. You blessed us in 2017 on our 50th wedding celebration . Now you have gained your final reward in everlasting life… until we meet again , your words will always be remembered .
Father Jerry brought me back to Catholicism after 20+ years. He inspired my grandson to make his first communion and confirmation. He always always had his arms open for my second grandson that has cerebral palsy and encourage my husband to convert to Catholicism. Father Jerry was a saint here on earth. He filled my heart with love and I felt so close to God when I was with him. May he be singing at the keyboard with the angels in the company of our Lord Jesus Christ? We miss you, Father Jerry.
Fr. Jerry will be missed by so many people who loved him. He was friend to many. I loved him. But then so many felt the same way. Now he is in heaven and he will greet all those friends that went before him.
We are mourning your loss from afar. We moved to MN (near our son) after 20 years in FL. We will never forget the first few times we participated in your beautiful Mass. Don eventually became a Catholic due, in some part, to your example. We are missing you already and so wishing we could be at your service.
We know you have everybody in Heaven singing and dancing!!
Enjoy reconnecting with your mother and all the saints you loved. Sacred Heart community had the good fortune of your involvement for many years. Praying for you and remembering you with big smiles and the beautiful music you composed.
I gave Fr Jerry the yolk it’s hanging in his office he called me to tell me when I come visit him. Oh how we loved him.. his words will stay with us forever ♥️ ❤️
We hugged and greeted each other in Italian…we liked to practice it…always encouraging and optimistic.
Father Jerry,
So grateful we got to hang out and exchange shirts with Timmy and laugh until our tummy’s hurt. You were a real disciple of Godand we our sure he has welcomed you with open arms. And, what you did to baptize our little Parker is unforgettable.
So happy we were kind of related.
Always in our hearts,
Tim, Susie and family🙏
Please forgive my mistakes on my post. Tim and Susie Knight
Father Jerry welcomed us 8 years ago to Sacred Heart with open arms. I’m so heartbroken we can’t be there for the funeral. Father Jerry has had such an important impact on my life. I know he was so looking forward to going home and whenever he spoke about death he made it sound incredible. He was such a gifted homilist and musician and I am so blessed to be part of such an amazing music ministry at Sacred Heart. Father Jerry and all of Sacred Heart are in our prayers this sad, but glorious day. You will always be with us and always in our hearts.

Father Jerry may you rest in peace. With the Angels. You were one of a kind who touched the lives of so many people who loved you & will miss you. You won’t be forgotten & your music lives on. Prayers & condolences for your family. Kathy & Ed
💙 My dear Jerry, Bach in Santa Monica, when you were diagnosed with lymphoma in 1986 somehow I knew this was not the end and I told you you were going to live 40 plus….
Thank God for the 40 extra years, I only wish it could have been more… 💜
Will miss you forever mon ami 💙🌷🙏
PS : say hello to Sainte Thérèse, the little flower, from me 🌺
Rest in peace, beautiful, dear Father Jerry. You touched so many lives and made this world better. ❤️
Fr. Jerry and Sacred Heart Parish welcomed me when I was at a low point. These past years I was able to be part of the wonderful Sacred Heart Music Ministry and it brightened my life. I am grateful for the time spent singing and listening to all the great homilies. What a gift Fr. Jerry was to this parish and community. Rest in Peace.
Sending hugs, prayers and love you all.
As a former student of Joan’s, as well as employee and friend, I first met her brother Jerry along with their Dad, in the late 1980s. It was way cool. I was a bit taken aback not only by the physical resemblance of Jerry and Joan but also by their overwhelming spirit and awesome shining vibe. I was grateful to be able to feel that and grateful for the experience of our paths crossing in this beautiful blessed life. All of these years later when my Mom in Sarasota told me of Father Jerry’s passing I first was sad but then also grateful to have met him but to have heard stories and tidbits on a regular basis that began “My brother Jerry” from his loving sister Joan. So today from many years away and many miles away in New York , I am sending love.
Love, strength courage and prayers to Joan from my family to yours.
To Joan Kaywell and Family – please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your brother. While I did not have the privilege of knowing him, I know this is a profound loss for you. I am holding you and your family in my thoughts during this difficult time.
Father Jerry was an inspirational priest, but more than that, a compassionate human being, who was connected to the human condition and to Christ. He taught me so much; I am a better person because of his homilies, and he impacted our community through his parish. Dance and sing with the Saints, Father Jerry, we will miss you; however, we are so glad you are living your everlasting life with Christ.

Thank you for “teaching” me my religion again, I came to you as the first priest I ever had a one on one discussion . I know you are singing with the angels maybe leading but your joy has given me support during this most difficult time in my life. Thank you Rest now with our Lord
Fr. Jerry profoundly touched my life and my heart. To all the family, I share your grief and the joy that he leaves with us. Fr. Jerry, I will always be grateful for your being Jesus to me, and for blessing our home in Assisi with your signature song. Dance now before the Lord, sweet barefooted troubadour of Him who loves us beyond measure.
Fr Jerry had a great send off this morning! What an awesome from all who made it possible! Thanks to Gwen who read his final words from his journal! Fantastic job my dear! Thank you Father Jerry for bringing me to the Catholic Faith. I became a Catholic in 2024 with your inspiration. It was and has been an amazing journey. May you rest in peace with Gods glory!
Thank you Jerry for always lighting up the room when you came to the mountains and brought your laughter and oh those jokes you told, those will be missed as well. You will be missed Jerry! Kristin & Shannon
I have treasured memories of Father Jerry’s kindness, laughter, and beautiful shining spirit. His company brought me calm and warmth like his potato leek soup recipe which I will make and remember him with a smile. Rest in Peace.
God bless Joan and the family mourning the passing of a wonderful example of Christ’s love. I know he will be missed as I have read through all of the comments. The peace of Christ be with you all!
Father Jerry and his beautiful choir kept us all in God’s hands during COVID. We had several families here, in Lancaster, Ohio joining your family every week for your Saturday Masses. We felt truly blessed to be a part of your parish and join you in your celebration with a Priest who truly lived a life of Christ. We know that Father Jerry now is with his Heavenly Father and is showered in God’s Love…and Peace!! Father Jerry, please pray for all of us! 🕊️
