What Jesus is calling us to do is to root out sin in our lives at its very core. He is calling us to more than a recitation of a grocery list of sins in a confessional. He is calling us to a deep introspection of why we do the things we do.

I don’t know who “the least one” is for you. I just need to know who it is for me. This Gospel calls us all to take a hard look at ourselves.

Look into the heart of the cross you bear and see the love at its core. See the abundance, not the lack. See the blessing, not the pain. Immerse yourself in love, and the cross loses its power.

Through the Gospels, Jesus planted some amazingly wonderful tapes within our hearts. Regretfully, both life and the Evil One has sown some very negative ones among the positive ones. We choose what guides our life.

We are not victims. Every day, we choose again what we allow within us.

It is in our most difficult times that we need to receive His Body and Blood the most. It is when we are most broken that we most need Eucharist.

Prayer is sitting open before the Lord and allowing Him to shower us with whatever gifts or insights He chooses.

The moral of the story I learned those many years ago is, “Don’t hide too well.” Don’t wrap your pain so tightly inside that you can no longer hear God calling you home.

Pentecost is a time when we are not clothed in faith but when faith bursts from the inside of us outward. It shines forth from our soul and captures all who are around us in its wonder.

We can speak the language of love, the language of forgiveness, compassion, gratitude, and hope. We have a limitless ability to converse in the language of God.
