From the very beginning, God taught us what is most important.

Mary is a woman who we often underestimate. We quickly see her fiat – saying yes to God to bear his son. Yet, we often miss the bigger picture of who Mary was. 

God is with us (Emmanuel), not for a moment or for one man’s lifetime, but for all time in all of us.

Joseph should remind us that none of our actions are unimportant, and not one of us is insignificant. 

Holy Joy is not temporary or extinguishable. Instead, it is dynamic, vibrant, and ever-present, no matter the circumstances of our lives.

Advent is about today. It is about changing, recommitting, and living as beacons proclaiming the love of God to our world that suffers.

We should not allow ourselves to see the birth of the child Jesus at Christmas without also understanding the life, death, and resurrection of the man.

In Jesus’ desperation, the last voice he hears is a voice that affirms His life, His love, and His mission. How wonderful is that!

When we come before God in prayer and find a silent place within where God can speak. We hear His voice.
