Thank you, Fr. Jerry, Gwen, Fr. Rory and the Supremes. The Mass was
beautiful, and well produced. We are blessed to participate during this difficult time and we will be back in person as soon as we feel
it is safe.

You spoke about the faces of evil today as seen on January 6, 2021. Did you speak of the evil faces during the summer of love (2020) in Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, etc. ? Perhaps they were the same faces seen on 1-6-21? As a conservative, my heart is broken. I have been watching Fr. Jerry for several weeks now, on the advise of a friend, and loved his services and gospel interpretations. Godwinks comes to mind and others. I live in another state and have looked forward to Sunday afternoons with Sacred Heart and Fr. Jerry. Was Fr. Jerry accusing conservatives of “storming the Capitol?” Until today, I found it refreshing to not involve politics with scripture. With “cancel culture” so
prominent today, I guess I just got cancelled from Sacred Heart. Keep our country in prayer, I will. God Bless, An old Army veteran.
We are very sorry that Father Jerry’s homily on January 31 was upsetting to you.
Having spoken with Father, he intended no condemnation of anyone, or of any political group. In fact he did not reference any political group in his homily. Rather Father expressed dismay at the hate, venom, and violence that was rabid in the faces of many in the mob. Father’s homily called us all to reflect on our motivations and our ways of handling disagreement and anger without resorting to hate and violence.
We hope you never feel “cancelled” from joining our Mass. It is at His table that, as St. Paul said, there is no difference between Jew and Gentile, slave and free, and we can add conservative and liberal. We welcome all to the table of the Lord, to celebrate God’s love and presence.
Thank you for your service to our country, we respect you and your willingness to express your thoughts here. We hope you will join us often to celebrate the Eucharist.
